Words from Seller

A rancher's love for his land can be seen through his efforts in conservation, and this rings true for the Hams Fork River Ranch.  This Ranch has been in the same family for decades, and is now being offered to the market for the first time in 60 years. The Ranch is a very special place that you just can't find anymore, being either a year round or a summer cattle operation and also a recreational paradise.  Located in Lincoln County in southwest Wyoming, the ranch is bordered on two sides by large BLM tracts and is about 8 miles north of Kemmerer, WY, along HWY 233 for great year round access! The Hams Fork River spirals through the ranch for several miles, flowing down from the Kemmerer Reservoir and Lake Viva Naughton, with the State of Wyoming participating in creating outstanding fishing for rainbows, browns and the occassional cutthroat trout.  The Ranch has historic water rights that allow for excellent irrigation, good hay production and healthy cows.  The river also attracts a host of neighborhood wildlife and the hunting opportunities that follow, including big game like Elk, Deer, Antelope and Moose, as well as small game, and waterfowl! The Ranch currently runs 200 plus cows year round or about 500 cows in the summer, and has a BLM Grazing permit for an addittional 135 cows that run on thousands more adjacent acres of summer range.  Moving from one end of the ranch to the other, there are 6 separate pastures and 400+/-  acres of irrigated hay meadows that consistently produce between 500 to 600 tons of good quality hay when not being grazed.  Corrals, a scale and loading chutes are still occasionally used on the ranch in addittion to the original homestead buildings, and there is also a small cabin currently being used for rental income.  The ranch is a couple hours drive to Salt Lake City, UT, providing major air service and the hustle and bustle of the big city, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming is about 150 miles to the north.  The Hams Fork River Ranch is truly a chance to have a piece of the vanishing last frontier, in the great State of Wyoming!
